Spring has arrived……

Hooray! It’s officially here, ok, we may not have the perfect Spring weather yet but I’m sure it’s just around the corner. I love looking out into my garden and seeing bursts of yellow daffodils bobbing about.  I think it’s a wonderful time of year, there is a freshness in the air that fills me with motivation to go outside and enjoy the great outdoors.  I hope to get back out into my garden at some point and give it some much needed attention. For now, the daffodils are doing a good job of keeping it pretty.

How to make a simple drawstring bag…

Emma @ Sweet Mabel:

I’m currently working on a project that may require a handmade drawstring bag. I found this post very helpful and easy to understand (and I also absolutely love the fabric that has been used) so I thought I’d share it with you all.

A simple homemade drawstring bag can give any gift the personal touch, or make a messy toy room tidy again. You can use up small pieces of left over fabric , or it is great for Fat Quarters you may have stashed away somewhere. I love these drawstring bags and hope you do to. I would love to hear what you will be putting in yours…

Make a Drawstring bag

Cut Fabric Size

Step Two…

Step Four…

Stitch your Seams

Step Five…

Stitch Top Channel

Step Seven…

Turn and Thread Ribbon

Now you have made your drawstring bag!… What will you use yours for? I have decided to give mine as a housewarming gift for my friend. My Dad keeps bees and she just loves his honey so I am going to give…

Mother’s day creations and some fun in the sun!

It’s been a busy weekend at Sweet Mabel HQ.  I’ve been working very hard in a bid to get the shop back open in time to show off my new Mother’s day creations.

I will be adding a few more items next week and maybe a few Easter treats too. It’s nice to be back doing what makes me happy!

In between all of this crafting I did manage to enjoy the glorious sunshine that we were blessed with yesterday.  My man and I went for a beautiful walk in the countryside, a mix of sunshine and fresh air is always good for the soul, not to mention some fun in the mud!Screenshot_2014-03-10-18-31-26-1 (1)
